Dogwood Ridge Observatory

Dogwood Ridge Observatory came about in the fall of 2002. While the new home was being built a friend of mine and member of our astronomy club, Charlottesville Astronomical Society CAS, assisted in the construction of the observatory. Since 2002 there have been improvements and enhancements but it's mission has not changed. This site is intended to help share the night wonders observed here with friends, family and anyone with an interest. On this site I try to explain the use of the equipment in obtaining these digital images as well as the some explanation of the process used to acquire and process them. As this site is under constant updating as the skies allow, please visit often. If you are interested in keeping our rural skies dark, please visit The International Dark Sky Association for information on how you can help.
