These are pictures we took entering Glacier Bay on our way to and at Margerie Glacier. To have witnessed the calving of the ice from the glacier was amazing. You hear the roar before seeing the splashing and the birds take flight. Look closely and you'll see them in the mist from the splashes. In the next page of the calving ice you can see, if you look closely, the chunks of ice as they are falling. But keep in mind that as much ice as you see here and it's monumental, these glaciers are retreating faster than we've ever known them to. Future generations may only have pictures such as these to imagine from. Another note I should make is that these picture were taken from our balcony on the 10th level of the ship. Our deck was just below the Bridge, at least 100' above the water. The total heigth of the ship is 203' with 15 decks and a 26' draft. Our cabin was C206 found on this diagram.
